Manufactured Housing Could Be Your Solution
July 9th, 2007 Posted in Central Oregon, La Pine, Three Rivers SouthManufactured homes are a large part of the Central Oregon real estate market. Many lenders are shying away from lending on them which makes the public think that they are not a good investment.
Today the easiest way to fund a manufactured home purchase is with an FHA loan. There are other products available, U.S. Bank has a good program and I am sure there are other banks that have some options too.
So, what is the attraction to a manufactured home? Many first time home buyers, retirees’ and people wanting a little more room or space find a manufactured home the perfect solution.
Today, you can find a newer manufactured home on an acre often times with a shop, an extra garage and out buildings for a lower list price than a frame built home with no extras and a smaller home at that.
Today I met with a young family with 3 boys and a girl, they are well qualified for just over $200,000. There are a few frame built homes that fall into their financial qualifications, but most of them are smaller 3 bedroom homes with a small living area.
When we explore the possibilities of the manufactured home we find that there are a lot of options without extending their budget. The bonus is there is more square footage in the manufactured home, more bedrooms and larger living spaces.
Today’s manufactured home is built much better than the ones of yesteryear. They are generally sheet rocked and have many upgrades that give you a much nicer looking home than in the past.
Generally manufactured homes will have a lot of great storage, bigger bathrooms and often time luxury bathrooms that you will not find in a pre-existing frame built home.
Roofing is no longer metal it is now shingled just like a frame built home, you will find wonderful porches and decking and all the wonderful things we have learned to expect with Central Oregon Real Estate. If you are not finding a home that meets your needs in the frame built market, the manufactured home market maybe be for you. Check out this wonderful manufactured home currently listed in La Pine.

Thesa,
This looks like a great place. I can’t believe it’s a manufactured home, is that correct? Great job on showcasing this home online. Sure looks like a lot of home for the price. I may need to consider this area for retirement myself.
You can see why you’re a top realtor for Central OR.

Lynda; yes this is a manufactured home. It is pretty nice and the lot is one of the prettiest I have seen. The trees are what we call second growth.
